Job Description
Musicians On Call (MOC) is a nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare environments. The Volunteer Recruitment and Onboarding Coordinator is a full-time, non-exempt position responsible for coordinating the volunteer onboarding operations for MOC programs. This position will also support the Program Department’s efforts to build volunteer recruitment networks and best practices. Finally, the coordinator will help manage MOC Bedside shifts in TN, including for special performances and partnerships. This position will report to the Director of Programs and be based in Nashville, TN with a salary starting at $40,000.
Onboarding Specialist Role
- Provide a direct line of communication, support and outreach for prospective and new Musicians On Call volunteers
- Develop an expertise for evaluating potential MOC volunteers and apply Program Department standards to reviewing and processing all volunteer applications
- Actively guide and advise all volunteers to advance through MOC onboarding steps and requirements, including via email, telephone call, Zoom or in-person meetings
- Work with individual Program Coordinators and Managers to support volunteer onboarding at specific hospitals, as needed
- Develop FAQs, best practices, and department tools that help streamline volunteer onboarding and integration into the MOC platform
- Provide feedback and support for new MOC platform services
Volunteer Recruitment and Engagement Role
- Use institutional knowledge and Program Team feedback to build strategies for expanding volunteer recruitment networks and best practices
- Manage all national volunteer recruitment services and projects
- Support the Director of Programs and Senior Program Managers with in-person recruitment resources, ideas and problem solving
- Work with the Program Team and Volunteer Experience Coordinator to support volunteer appreciation activities, events and projects
Bedside Program Coordination
- Coordinate Bedside shifts for one or more MOC partner facilities
- Support sponsor relationships in assigned markets, as needed, by providing stats, volunteer and hospital testimonials, general program information, and more as requested
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal — bilingual (Spanish/English) highly preferred
- Disciplined self-starter who can set and achieve goals with a passion for and interest in learning more about the nonprofit world
- Ability to prioritize projects, meet deadlines, manage several projects simultaneously and work well under pressure

- Ability and willingness to travel overnight as needed
- Ability and comfort with working onsite at hospitals, including meeting all hospital requirements to volunteer at the Bedside
- Computer literacy and knowledge of Google Workspace required; CRM familiarity preferred
Education/Training
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience within nonprofit, music industry, radio, healthcare, or related field(s)
- Experience in a healthcare setting, knowledge of HIPAA and infection control policies is preferred
