Pete Griffin, President and CEO of Musicians On Call (MOC), has an extensive and diverse background that spans the music, entertainment and nonprofit industries. He has worked in executive roles at MTV, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA). While managing social causes at MTV, his team won an Emmy Award for Best National Community Service Campaign and Pete has spoken about engaging communities around social causes everywhere from the White House to the United Nations.
In his 10+ years with Musicians On Call, Pete has led the growth of MOC from a small regional charity, to having programs in all 50 states and is growing internationally. He has been named Nashville Business Journal’s Most Admired Nonprofit CEO four times, and for the past six years, MOC was recognized as a “Best Nonprofit to Work For” by the Nonprofit Times, recently ranking 9th overall. In 2023, Pete was recognized by the acclaimed Anthem Awards as the International Nonprofit Leader of the Year in the Health industry.
Pete and his team have brought the healing power of music to over 1,000,000 patients, families, and caregivers across the country.
Pete studied Business Management at Bucknell University and completed Executive Education programs at Harvard Business School, Said Business School at University of Oxford, and Stanford Business School.
Outside of work, Pete is a Rescue Diver and Swift Water Rescue Technician with Nashville’s Office of Emergency Management, and he and his partner were recognized by the City of Nashville with a Silver Star for their efforts going into flood waters to save a police officer and civilian who were swept away and drowning in the rapids.
