Musicians On Call Welcomes New Group of Leaders in Entertainment and Healthcare to National Board of Directors
Musicians On Call is pleased to welcome Charles Esten, Lori Feldman, Michelle Klinger, Jessica Lee, Lee Perlman, Dr. Todd Rubin and Cathy Sullivan to our National Board of Directors. They join an esteemed group of leaders in music, entertainment and healthcare to lead MOC’s growth and expansion efforts to reach more patients, family members and caregivers with the healing power of music. We are also thrilled to announce the election of Alissa Pollack as Vice Chair of the Board.
Charles Esten is an American actor and singer/songwriter best known for his role as Deacon Claybourne on CMT’s NASHVILLE. His many additional television credits include his current role of Ward Cameron in the Netflix original series OUTER BANKS and recurring roles on such shows as BIG LOVE, THE OFFICE and ER. He has also been a longtime recurring performer on the improv comedy show WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? Charles is an active Musicians On Call volunteer and regularly performs for patients and caregivers in hospitals, hospice centers, and VA facilities. He serves as the National Honorary Spokesman for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s LIGHT THE NIGHT campaign. In 2018, he was honored with Musicians On Call’s Music Heals Golden Ukulele for his commitment to sharing the healing power of music.
Lori Feldman spent more than 25 years in the record industry, most recently as EVP of Strategic Marketing at Warner Records. She moved to the agency world in late 2019 and joined Paradigm Talent Agency as chief marketing officer. There Lori leads the Marketing Services division including brand partnerships, tour marketing, special events and more. She has been recognized in numerous consecutive appearances in Billboard Magazine’s Top 100 Women in Music and Branding Power Players lists. Lori has introduced many artists to MOC’s mission through fundraising events and programs and has served on the organization’s President’s and Advisory Councils.
Michelle Frohlich-Klinger has led numerous social impact causes since 2008, including teaming up with artist Carlos Augusto Pereira to create elaborate murals in the hallways of Miami Children’s Hospital and launching the Miami Branch of Musicians On Call, where she served as Program Director from 2009 to 2012. In this role, she founded programs at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, South Miami Hospital, and Holtz Children’s Hospital at Jackson Memorial and recruited over 100 volunteer guides and musicians. In 2013, she co-created SoulShine Colombia, where she joined forces with Waves For Water to bring access to clean water to one of the most impoverished areas of Cartagena, Colombia. Through this joint effort, they were able to deliver potable water filters to adolescent mothers and their families, bringing access to clean water to over 30,000 people. Michelle holds her BA from the University of Miami, a Certificate in Social Impact Strategy from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice, and recently received a Master’s Degree in NonProfit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.
Jessica Lee is co-chair of the Privacy, Security & Data Innovations practice at Loeb & Loeb, helping companies in the U.S. and around the world launch, market and monetize their digital products and content. She provides strategic privacy counseling to clients leveraging data in connection with programmatic and addressable advertising, voice technology, location-based tracking, smart devices and wearables, and emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and facial recognition. Jessica’s work has received multiple recognitions including New York Metro Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in Media and Advertising in three consecutive years.
Lee Perlman is Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative and Financial Officer of the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA). From 1983 to 2020, he was the driving force behind and longtime President of GNYHA Ventures, Inc., the for-profit business arm of GNYHA, which many of the companies under Ventures have now been sold to larger organizations. Lee is Co-Chair of the Berkshire Theatre Group in Pittsfield (Massachusetts), Treasurer of The Actor’s Fund, and Vice Chair and Compliance Officer of the American Theatre Wing. He is also chairman of LiveOnNY, New York’s organ procurement organization, and serves on the Boards of the Ronald McDonald House of New York, New York Convention Center Operating Corporation and the Convention Center Development Corporation (Javits Center), UJA Federation of New York and Commonpoint Queens.
Todd A. Rubin, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in disorders of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. He has achieved the Subspecialty Certificate in Surgery of the Hand and aims to restore form and function for all of his patients. He has always been passionate about music and continues to search for ways to integrate music into his practice. Dr. Rubin fully understands the healing powers of music and recognizes that music can help to shape experiences for both patients and caretakers alike. He was a member of the Doctor’s Orchestra of New York and still enjoys playing the violin, guitar and piano. He was born and raised in New York though currently resides in Nashville, TN with his wife and two sons.
Cathy Sullivan is a CPA whose practice, Baker, Sullivan Hoover PLC, involves tax planning and preparation, financial planning and estate/trust services. Sullivan’s focus is family planning for individuals and helping clients achieve lifestyle goals. As the Trustee for the John and June Cash Trusts, she is devoted to protecting the name and likeness rights of the Cash brand. Cathy’s other charitable activities have included serving on the Harpeth Hall School Board of Trustees and as Treasurer, and on the audit and investment committees for Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation. She is a longtime Volunteer Guide for Musicians On Call, helping MOC launch our Bedside Performance Program in Nashville in 2007. She has also served on MOC’s Advisory Council for more than a decade.

Thanks to our incredible volunteers, supporters, staff and Board, we brought the healing power of music to more people virtually in 2020 than in any other year in our history,” said Musicians On Call President & CEO Pete Griffin. “We are excited to build on this momentum and continue sharing the joys of live music with record numbers in 2021 and beyond. Each of the leaders we are welcoming to our National Board of Directors bring extraordinary talents and expertise that will help us grow MOC in new and strategic ways in the coming years.”
