Musicians On Call’s Millions of Moments Event Honors Longtime Supporter Darius Rucker
Musicians On Call (MOC) has a million reasons to celebrate during the Millions of Moments special event at the Wildhorse Saloon on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023. MOC will mark a major milestone, performing for more than one million people in hospitals nationwide since our founding in 1999, by recognizing the volunteers, artists, hospital partners, patients, families, caregivers and songs that led us to this accomplishment. The night will feature special appearances and performances by Universal Music Group (UMG) Nashville artists Sam Hunt, The War And Treaty and Jon Pardi.
Two special honorees will be recognized for more than a decade of support of Musicians On Call’s mission. UMG Nashville recording artist Darius Rucker will receive the Music Heals Golden Ukulele for performing at the bedsides and virtually for adult and pediatric patients, Veterans and hospital staff in facilities nationwide. UMG Nashville Vice President of Media Marketing Leigh Parr Malleus will receive the Leadership in Music Golden Ukulele for serving as a Volunteer Guide for MOC’s Nashville-area hospital programs and connecting countless artists to MOC’s programs and live music campaigns, including Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Lauren Alaina, Maddie & Tae, Jon Pardi, Sam Hunt and others.
“From our early days bringing music to a single hospital, to playing virtually for over 250,000 patients and caregivers nationwide during the pandemic, our organization has grown tremendously since 1999. This evening will allow us to celebrate these accomplishments and the people who are a part of them,” said Musicians On Call President & CEO Pete Griffin. “Honoring Darius’ and Leigh’s volunteer work with us, before, during and since the pandemic, is a wonderful way to not only highlight their dedication and generosity but also to spotlight the many chapters of MOC’s evolution.”
Guests will be the first to experience the future of Musicians On Call as the organization unveils a proprietary online platform that will transform its program delivery model and enable the organization to scale dramatically. MOC will also premiere its new brand identity which includes a new logo, revamped website and fresh branding.
